The story of this extra-ordinary fellow will blow your mind!
Athleticism and sports, from football to weight-training to mountain biking, were a staple in Ian’s leisure activities. Unfortunately, a freak work accident on February 19th, 2016 occurred. On site, he was crushed by an 800 lbs steel bars that left him with an amputated left leg, crushed pelvis and spine, internal bleeding, and intestinal lacerations.
His recovery was long and after bouts of therapy and ergo-therapy, he needed and wanted to get back into training for many reasons.
As his injuries were progressing, Ian turned to us and noticed that we were not just a gym and not just a therapy clinic but way more. He was impressed with our different approach in finding solutions to movement issues:
A “family atmosphere, everyone knows you by name, the professional nature of how you treat your members and clients” and that he was “pris-en-main”.
He regained the urge to train again and is now progressing amazingly! He is much less limited by his prosthesis and his form and technique on his training are spot on! Karen helped in that regard!
An avid musician, he is back with his band, North East Bistro! Check them out!
We are very proud of your accomplishments, Ian and you just keep on bringing it! We love having you in our fitness family!
See you soon!
